Phillip R. “Pigeon Phil” Flesher, 64, of Ashland, died Tuesday evening, Feb. 19, 2013, in St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, W.Va.
He was born March 5, 1948, in Huntington, a son of the late Kenneth Earl Flesher and Evelyn Louise Ashworth Flesher.
He was a member of the Baptist Church, Ashland BPO Elks 350 and American Legion Post 177, and a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserve.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn S. Adkins Flesher of Ashland; a son, Thomas Edward Flesher and wife Missy of Minneapolis; a stepdaughter, Lesley Shimer of Ashland; a granddaughter, Taylor Lussier-Flesher of Elk River, Minn.; two stepgrandsons, Phillip Drew Shimer and Benjamin Hayden Shimer, both of Ashland; his stepmother, Valerie Flesher of Barboursville, W.Va.; a dear friend, Rick Adams of South Point, Ohio; a special nephew, Ryan Rose of Conway, S.C.; and numerous other friends and relatives.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at Steen Funeral Home-13th Street Chapel in Ashland by Rick Adkins Sr. and Kenny Estep.
Pallbearers will be Rich Lowe, Ryan Rose, George Keith Rose, Rick Adams, Chris Daniels and Rick Adkins Sr. Entombment will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Huntington.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Feb. 21, 2013, with an Elks service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
