Albert “Ab” Dillow - 1926-2013

FLATWOODS — Albert “Ab” Dillow, 86, of Flatwoods, was reunited with his wife, Christine, on Friday, March 22, 2013. He passed away at his daughter’s home surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Dillow was born Aug. 3, 1926, in Greenup County, a son of the late Fred and Martha Bell Adkins Dillow.

He was also preceded death by a son, Stephen Albert Dillow; a grandson, Adam Smith; a great-grandson, Brandon Stepp; and two sisters, Phoebe Bush and Nancy Aldi.

 He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, a retired carman for the C&O Railroad, a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Carmen, a charter member of the Greenup County Foxhunters Association and enjoyed fishing.  

Albert gave his heart to the Lord. He loved giving his testimony of how Brother Harry Bailey came to talk with him about the Lord and won him to the Lord. He was very proud to have read the Bible through two times. He also loved attending the Wurtland Church of God and seeing all his dear friends there.  

He is survived by a son, Michael Alan (Bonnie) Dillow of Kitts Hill, Ohio; three daughters, Sandi (Fred) McIntyre of Flatwoods, Patty (Jerry) Dillow Smith of Greenup and Judy (David) Workman of Greenup; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert (Dorothy) Dillow of Beaver, Ohio; and four sisters, Violet Williamson of Arizona, Mildred Smith of Texas, Hilda Sizemore of Texas and Jenny Riffe of Arizona.

Funeral services will be at noon March 25, 2013, at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods by the Rev. Pete Roar. Burial will be in Melvin Cemetery in Wurtland.  

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
