RACELAND —
Howard Ray Sheets, 63, of Raceland, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 2, 2012 ,in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell.
Mr. Sheets was born March 10, 1949, in Ashland, a son of Betty Colvin Sheets of Flatwoods and the late Marshall Sheets. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Jo Ann Sheets.
He was a custodian for the Raceland-Worthington Independent School District for 271⁄2 years and was a U.S. Army veteran and Kentucky colonel.
Surviving are his loving wife, Patricia “Patty” Carver Sheets; two sons, Howard M. Sheets of Raceland and Aaron Ray Sheets of Lexington; and a granddaughter, Morgan Sheets of Warner Robins, Ga.
Friends may call after 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 5, 2012, with funeral services at noon at Evans Funeral Home in Raceland by the Rev. Dallas Sutton.
Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East in Greenup County, with military rites by American Legion Post 276 of South Shore.
