WURTLAND —
Ronald Eugene Woods, 67, of Wurtland, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 7, 2013, in King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
Mr. Woods was born July 27, 1945, in Wurtland, a son of the late James and Anna Bell Horsley Woods.
He was a retired carman for the CSX Railroad.
Surviving are his loving wife, Brenda Kay Melvin Woods; a son, Kevin E. (and wife Angela) Woods of Wurtland; a daughter, Ronda Kay (and husband Mike) Short of Wurtland; two brothers, Denver Woods and Danny Woods, both of Wurtland; three sisters, Ernestine Menshouse and Avenell Meade, both of Wurtland, and Monie Show of Beloit, Wis.; six grandchildren, Charles E. (and wife Traci) Woods, Cody (and wife Rachael) Lucas, Parker Clarke, Jacob Short, Anna Clarke and Micah Short; and two great-granddaughters, Caroline Jo Woods and Olivia J. Lucas.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 11, 2013, at Evans Funeral Home in Raceland by the Rev. Danny Brown and the Rev. Tim Rogers. Burial will be in Melvin Cemetery in Wurtland.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
