Billy Ray “Bill” Fraley - 1936-2012

GRAYSON — Billy Ray “Bill” Fraley of Grayson passed away Saturday, Aug. 25 following a long illness.  

He was born March 21, 1936, in Van Lear, the son of Vivian Fraley of Dayton, Ohio and the late Rufus Fraley.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Bonnie Richmond Fraley whom he married on Valentine’s Day 1957.

He is also survived by two sons, Bobby and his wife Carol Ann Fraley and Harold Fraley; two grandchildren, Caitlin Rae and Chad Richmond Fraley, all of Grayson; one sister, Joann (Rob) Durham of Beaver Creek, Ohio; one brother, Jim (Debbie) Fraley of Fayette, W.Va.; and a brother-in-law, Harold Gene (Linda) Richmond of Dayton. He is also survived by his dear and faithful canine companions, Lacy and Andrew.

He was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, John Spillman and Della Williams Richmond and a brother-in-law, Paul Dean Richmond.

Bill was a member of Oak Grove Church of Christ and a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Berlin Airlift. He was retired from Armco Steel.

A memorial service will be at 6 p.m. today,  Aug. 28 at Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson with Chris Bellew officiating.  

Visitation will be from 5 until 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Huntington’s Disease Research, Kentucky Division, 982 Eastern Parkway, Louisville, KY 40217
