MOUNT STERLING —
Louella Francis Bays Gray, 91, of Apperson Heights, Mount Sterling, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012, at her residence.
She was born Feb. 4, 1921, in Sandy Hook, the daughter of the late Oscar and Lula Howard Bays.
She was a homemaker, a member of the First Baptist Church of Panasofkee, Fla., and loved quilting, crotcheting, knitting and fishing. She was the widow of James Harve Gray.
She is survived by two daughters, Nell (Dale) Shrout of Mount Sterling and Lynne (Bruce) Allen of Valrico, Fla.; two sisters, Marie Bays Doran of Lexington and Pauline Bays Calhoun of Sumter, S.C.; six grandchildren, Teresa Shrout (Rodney) Gillum of Edgewood, Troy (Tracy) Shrout of Mount Sterling, Timothy (Cathy) Allen of Land O’ Lakes, Fla., Clark (Lorry) Gray of Jamestown, Tenn., Chris (Glenda) Gray of Peachtree Corners, Ga., and Sam (Linda) Gray of Castle Rock, Colo.; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition, she was preceded in death by a son, James “Woody” Gray, and a brother, Jesse Herbert Bays.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31, 2012, at Taul Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Sterling by the Rev. Kendall Brainard and the Rev. Rick Johnson. Burial will be in Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla.
In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Sandy Hook First Baptist Church.
