SANTA CLAUS, IN —
Edward J. Skiba, 56, of Santa Claus, Ind., died Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
He was born Aug. 3, 1956, in Reading, Pa., a son of the late Edward F. Skiba and Virginia Galczynski Skiba. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Colette and Mary Skiba.
He was an instrumentation technician with 32 years of employment at Air Liquide. He was a member of Isaac Hester Masonic Lodge 660 and a six-year member of Gentryville United Methodist Church. He was an avid golfer, belonged to the Watch and Clock Collectors and was a member of Order of Eastern Star Reading Chapter 251.
Surviving are his wife of 34 years, Ann Texter Skiba, whom he married April 29, 1978. He is also survived by sisters Monica Burkholder of Fleetwood, Pa., Diane Noll of Westlawn, Pa., Vanessa Fox of Sinking Spring, Pa., and Connie Peterson of Robesonia, Pa.
A memorial service will be at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 1, 2012, at Gentryville United Methodist Church, 705 Main St., Gentryville, Ind., by Pastor Charlotte Lee. A luncheon will be in the church fellowship hall.
Visitation will be after 9 a.m. Sept. 1 at the church.
There will also be visitation at 1 p.m. Oct. 6, 2012, at Wyomissing United Church of Christ in Gouglersville, Pa., off Route 222 on Old Lancaster Pike, with closing prayer by Pastor Ann Skiba.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the Gentryville United Methodist Church Construction Fund or Jaspers Food Pantry, c/o Evelyn Adams, 3222 State Route 166, Tobinsport, IN 475200.
Lazear Funeral Home in Ashland is in charge of arrangements.
