Thelma “Tootsie” Bays, 85, of Ky. 2, Greenup, passed away Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012, in Oakmont Manor in Flatwoods.
Mrs. Bays was born June 28, 1927, in Greenup, a daughter of the late Adam and Ella England Helton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee “Pud” Bays; three brothers, Curtis Helton, Elmer Helton and Estel Helton; two sisters, Eunice Baldridge and Bessie Bear; and two grandchildren, Sabrina (Eddie) Bays Caudill and Phillip Nichols Bays.
She is survived by two sons, Russell “Rusty” Bays of Ashland and Clemont “Buddy” (Karleen) Bays of Greenup; two brothers, Clifford Helton of Delaware, Ohio, and Burl Helton of Florence; a sister, Virgie Damron of Worthington; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup by Brother Danny Brown. Burial will be in McGuire Cemetery in Greenup.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today and an hour before services Thursday at the funeral home.
