LOUISA —
Jack Ray Ward, 76, of Louisa, passed from this earth to be with his heavenly Father on Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, at his home.
Jack was born in Moncolo, W.Va., on Jan. 16, 1936, to the late Lonnie and Ertle Kitchen Ward.
He was a graduate of Louisa High School, served in the U.S. Army (a Korean War veteran), he was a retired iron worker, a member of the American Legion Post 93 in Ceredo, W.Va., and he was an avid hunter, always loving the outdoors.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Edgel, Loren, Martin and Johnny Ward; two sisters, Ollie Prichard and Lottie Brumfield.
Sadly, he leaves behind a son, Jack Ray Ward Jr. and his wife, Robin, of East Liberty, Ohio; a daughter, Rhonda Kay Ward Alley and her husband, Greg, of Ashland; a grandson, Nathan Alley; a brother, Todd Ward and his wife, Carol, of Louisa; two sisters, Celia LIttle of Minnie and Ginny Thompson and her husband, Ernie, of Louisa; the mother of his children, Wylodine Ward, formerly his wife, of Catlettsburg; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for family and friends to honor him will take place at a later date.
Young Funeral Home in Louisa is in charge of arrangements.
