BURLINGTON, NC —
Imogene Ward-Roberson, 97, of Burlington, N.C., went to her Heavenly home on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013.
She was born April 9, 1915, in Russell, the daughter of the late Arthur Hyatt and Mary Alice Johnson-Ward.
She was married 60 years to the Rev. James Hoyt Roberson and was a retired elementary schoolteacher.
Imogene served with her late husband as he faithfully served Baptist churches in South Carolina, Kentucky and North Carolina. She was a special lady.
Imogene was also preceded in death by three brothers, Vickers Ward, Alfred J. Ward and Arthur Hyatt Ward Jr.
Survivors include a special sister-in-law, Georgeanne (Arthur H. Jr.) Ward, four nieces and two nephews.
A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods.
There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be sent to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to her caregiver, Sarah Lamberth, and a support group of friends, as well as the staff at both Edgewood Place and the Hospice Home.
