ASHLAND —
A Bloomfield resident, Mr. John William Hayes, age 71, passed away Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012, at the residence of his daughter in Bloomfield.
He was a native of Ashland, a retired employee of the Stone Container Company, a U.S. Navy veteran, a member of Poage Masonic Lodge 325 F&AM in Ashland, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Scottish Right, and was of the Baptist faith.
He was the son of the late Thomas J. and Norma Lucille Dobbins Hayes, and was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Sue Hayes.
He is survived by two daughters, Missie (Robert) Land of Bloomfield and Christy Davis of Orange Park Fla.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Cremation was chosen by the family with a memorial service to be at noon Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Brother Leland Parks will officiate.
Friends may kindly call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.
