GRAYSON —
Sylvia J. Day was called home by her heavenly Father on June 21, 2012. She now sings with the heavenly choir.
She was a member of Williams Creek Community Church on Rt. 5, and was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a wonderful cook and baker, and her apple pies were legendary.
Sylvia was born June 8, 1936, in Accoville, W.Va., the daughter of the late Harrison and Nancy Dillon Bunch. She was a retired seamstress and had worked for Cindrella Fashion and Corbin.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Ernest Day; one son, Mark (Brenda) Day of Ashland; and one daughter, Debbie (Rick) Kitchen of Argillite. Also one granddaughter, Lindsay Day survives.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, June 25, at 10 a.m. at Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson with Rick Kitchen officiating. Burial will follow at Veterans Park East Cemetery at noon.
Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 24, and after 9 a.m. Monday.
