DENTON —
Vess Gollihue, 74, of Denton, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012, at his residence.
He was born Oct. 24, 1938, the son of the late Raymond and Ruby Adkins Gollihue.
Vess was of the Baptist faith. He worked at Kentucky Electric Steel for 36 years and was a foreman in the melt shop for 25 years.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Angela Gollihue.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Hamilton Gollihue; two sons, Jason Gollihue and Jim “Bub” (Janet) Gollihue, all of Denton; a daughter, Vanessa (John) McDowell of Raceland; two brothers, Frank (Fran) Gollihue of Grayson and Burnice Gollihue of Pittsburgh, Pa.; two sisters, Faye Castle of Grayson and Mary Alice Chaffin of Vermillion, Ohio; two granddaughters, Sarah and Savannah; and his four-legged children, Harley, Abby 1, Abby 2 and Benny.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28 at Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson by Clell Lucas. Burial will be in East Carter County Memory Gardens.
Friends may call after 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
