GRAYSON —
William “Bill” Burton Stephens, 75, of Grayson, passed away Jan. 13, 2013, in King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
He was born June 29, 1937, the son of the late Everett and Lula Burton Stephens.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bird watching and John Wayne movies. He was previously employed with the Carter County Board of Education, the East Carter County Memory Gardens and Malone Funeral Home.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Wanda Jean Doyle Stephens; four infant sisters; and two brothers.
He is survived by his children, Kendall (Kelly) Stephens, David Stephens and Christy (Bobby) Bond; grandchildren, Zach (Kara) Stephens, Cassie (Jeremy) Grant, Talia Stephens, Katie (Brandon) Stephens, Jeremiah Stephens and Olivia Bond; great-grandchildren, Cecelia, Serenity and Kaleb Grant and Hannah Berry.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, at Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson, Brother Leo Glancy minister. Burial will follow in the Burton Family Cemetery near Grayson.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, at the funeral home.
