CARNEY POINTS, N.J. —
Joan Robinson Spears, 89, of Carney Points, N.J., formerly of Ashland, died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, at the residence of her daughter.
Joan was born Sept. 17, 1923, in Pikeville, a daughter of the late Jay and Minnie Damron Robinson. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Bruce Spears; a son, Lloyd Bruce Spears; and brothers, Carl Robinson, and Truman Robinson.
Mrs. Spears was a cashier for many years with the Kroger Company in Ft. Wright and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her daughter, Carol Sue Harding and husband Wally of Carneys Points, N.J.; grandchildren, Jay Allen Spears of Smithfield, Todd Harding of Carney Points and Tammy Lynn of Chesapeake, Va.; and four great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at Steen Funeral Home-13th Street Chapel in Ashland by Brother Tom Stephens. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.
Friends may call after noon on Wednesday at the funeral home.
