Margaret “Maggie” Leachman-Bagley (1963-2009)

Margaret E. “Maggie” Leachman-Bagley, 45, of Blue Rock, Ohio, died Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009, in University Hospital-James Cancer Center in Columbus, Ohio. She was born May 4, 1963, in Greenup County, Ky.

Maggie fought a courageous battle and never gave up hope. She had a big heart and loved her family.

Surviving are her husband, Doug Bagley; her mother and stepfather, Clark and Anna Hill Leachman; her father, Bill VanBibber; sons Jonathan Andrew Perrock and Taylor Jo Perrock; a brother, Andy Leachman of Pataskala, Ohio; sisters Terri Howard of Ashland and Christina Leachman of Russell; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Timothy VanBibber.

There will be no funeral service. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20 at Lazear Funeral Home in Ashland.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the James Cancer Center 300 W. 10th Ave., Columbus, OH 43210.



Willis Loyd Ison (1931-2009)

Willis Loyd Ison, 78, of Webbville, passed away Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009, in King’s Daughters medical Center.

He was born May 13, 1931, in Elliott County, Ky., to the late Perry and Rebecca Sparks Ison.

He was a farmer and of the Baptist faith.

He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Wanda Bandemer.

His survivors include three sons, Perry Ison, Jerry Ison and KK Ison, all of Sandy Hook, Ky.; five daughters, Darlene Elam of Xenia, Ohio, and Vicky Ison, Marlene Lewis, Kathy Hay and Kandice Ison, all of Sandy Hook, Ky.; a sister, Corene Porter of Webbville, Ky.; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009, at Malone Funeral Home in Grayson by Tim Porter. Burial will be in Ison Family Cemetery.

Vivian Cole Burke (1920-2009)

Vivian Cole Burke, 89, of Richmond, formerly of Catlettsburg, died Saturday in Hospice Compassionate Care Center in Richmond.

She was born March 24, 1920, and was preceded in death by her husband, Leborn Burke.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Kilgore & Collier Funeral Home in Catlettsburg.



Steven G. Holbrook (1975-2009)

Steven G. Holbrook, 34, of Catlettsburg, died Saturday at his residence.

He was born Aug. 22, 1975.

Kennie Brewer

Kennie Brewer, 65, of South Shore, died Sunday in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore.



Gene Raymond Waggoner

Gene Raymond Waggoner, 75, of Olive Hill, died Saturday in King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.

He is survived by his wife, Dolores Phillips Waggoner.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill.

David A. Cooper (1948-2009)

David A. Cooper, 61, of Vanceburg, died Saturday in the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.

He was born Feb. 4, 1948, in Vanceburg.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Gaydos Funeral Home in Vanceburg. Burial will be in Lewis County Memory Gardens at Black Oak.

Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.



Rebecca J. Hammond (1918-2009)

Rebecca J. Hammond, 91, of West Liberty, died Saturday in West Liberty Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born July 19, 1918, in Breathitt County. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Buford C. Lykins and Clayton Hammond.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. today at Potter Funeral Home in West Liberty. Burial will be in Morris Cemetery at Caney.

Friends may call after 10 a.m. today at the funeral home.

Rhoda Holland

Rhoda A. Holland, 90, of Frenchburg, died Sunday in Edgewood Estates Nursing Home in Frenchburg.

Her husband, Courtney Holland, survives.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Big Woods Community Church in Wellington. Burial will be in Ginter Cemetery at Leatherwood.

Friends may call after 6 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

Menifee Home for Funerals in Frenchburg is in charge of arrangements.



Julia Williams

Julia Williams, 86, of Ironton, died Saturday in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
