Charlie Timberlake - 1931-2009

Charles Hobert Timberlake, 78, of Sciotoville, formerly of Lucasville, died Saturday, Nov. 28, 2009, in Southern Ohio Medical Center Hospice.

He was born May 21, 1931, in Greenup County, Ky., to the late George Carl Timberlake and Gladys Morman Timberlake Allen.

Charlie was a retired TV repairman for Home Supply Co. and Montgomery Ward.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Louise Hunter Timberlake, on Dec. 1, 1989; a son, Charles Gerald Timberlake; and an infant brother.

He is survived by two sons, Tim (Kristi) Timberlake of South Shore, Ky., and Terry (Tammy) Timberlake of Sciotoville; six grandchildren, Rhonda, Chuck, Tara, Chad, Tana and Tabitha; four great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Faye Boggs, Freida Hacker and Dee Dee Greenslate, all of South Shore.

Funeral services will be at noon Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009, at McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville with Brother Bob Copley officiating. Burial will be in Scioto Burial Park.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and an hour before services Thursday at the funeral home.



Helen Meisel Cornett - 1925-2009

Helen Meisel Cornett, 83, of Lexington, Ky., formerly of Huntington, W.Va., passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009, in Rockcastle Regional Hospital in Mount Vernon, Ky.

She was born on Nov. 28, 1925, in Huntington, to the late Alfred and Oakley Meisel.

She was a 1943 graduate of St. Joseph’s High School in Huntington, after which she worked for the C&P; Telephone Co. She later became involved in the insurance industry in claims work for Aetna Life Insurance, Home Life and Thompson Kemper in Ashland, Ky. She and her husband were co-owners of Rosalie’s Flowers in Huntington from 1979 until they retired in 1996.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Cornett.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Leslie Cornett of Lexington and Jack Jr. and Lucy Cornett of Lexington; and four grandsons, Kevin, Kyle, John and William Cornett of Lexington, Ky.

A funeral Mass will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2009, at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Huntington with Father Jim Sobus officiating. Burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Park in Huntington.

Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Beard Mortuary, 3001 Third Ave., Huntington.



Howard “Wes” Brown

Howard “Wes” Brown, 31, of South Shore, died Sunday in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.

Evans Funeral Home in Raceland is in charge of arrangements, which are pending.



Gary Dean Caseman - 1943-2009

Gary Dean Caseman, 66, of Vanceburg, died Friday in Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio.

He was born Jan. 21, 1943, in Vanceburg. His wife, Diana Faye Corns Caseman, survives.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Vanceburg Church of God. Burial will be in Lewis County Memory Gardens. Military graveside rites will be by VFW Monte Lewis Stamm Post 5438 of Vanceburg.

Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 8 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Dickerson Funeral Home and an hour before services at the church.
