Anna Jones Riffe (1926-2009)
Anna Jones Riffe, 83, went home to be with the Lord Saturday Dec. 12, 2009, at her home in Boyd County. She was born Jan. 13, 1926, in Ashland to the late Thomas Milford Jones and Gertrude Riggles Jones.
She was retired from the Fairview School system, Sears Roebuck and member of Rose Hill Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Carl Riffe; a daughter, Carla Ann Riffe; a son, Matthew Dane Riffe; a brother, Russell Jones Jr.; and four sisters, May Robinson, Ruby Wilson, Evelyn Jones and Ada Chatfield.
She is survived by a sister, Ruth (David) Wheeless of Indianapolis, Ind. and several loving nieces and nephews who will miss her greatly.
Ann was a loving wife and mother and much loved by her family and friends. She will be sadly missed by all.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Rose Hill Baptist Church. Interment will be in Ashland Cemetery.

Stanford G. Hacker (1937-2009)
Stanford G. Hacker, 72, of South Shore, Ky., died Saturday at his residence. He was born Oct. 2, 1937, in South Portsmouth to the late Pete Hacker and Louella Thompson Hacker.
He was a retired employee of the North American Refractory of South Shore, Ky. and a U.S. Army veteran.
Surviving is his wife, Frieda Timberlake Hacker, to whom he married Feb. 24, 1958.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Hacker.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore with Danny Bentley officiating.
Burial will be in Collier Memorial Gardens in South Portsmouth.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
