Anna Jones Riffe - 1926-2009
Anna Jones Riffe, age 83, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009 at her home in Boyd County.
She was born Jan. 13, 1926, in Ashland, Ky., a daughter of the late Thomas Milford Jones and Gertrude Riggles Jones.
She was retired from the Fairview School System, and Sears Roebuck and a member of Rose Hill Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Riffe; two children, a daughter, Carla Ann Riffe and a son, Matthew Dane Riffe; a brother, Rev. Russell Jones; and four sisters, May Robinson, Ruby Wilson, Evelyn Jones and Ada Chatfield.
She is survived by a sister, Ruth (David) Wheeless of Indianapolis, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews who will miss her greatly.
Ann was a loving wife and mother and much loved by her family and friends. She will be sadly missed by all.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. today, Dec. 16, 2009 at Rose Hill Baptist Church by Dr. Ronnie Mayes and the Rev. Charles E. Stewart. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery.

Charles Boyles - 1937-2009
Charles Junior Boyles, 72, of Lloyd, Ky., went to be with the Lord Monday, Dec. 14, 2009, in Oakmont Manor in Flatwoods, Ky.
Mr. Boyles was born June 27, 1937, in Load, Ky., a son of the late James H. and Fatha Miller Boyles.
Mr. Boyles had worked many years at Williams Shoe Manufacturing in Portsmouth, Ohio, was a retired custodian at Greenup County High School and was a member of Load Christian Baptist Church.
He is survived by one brother, James Ray (Deloris) Boyles of Lloyd; and one sister, Rita (Jerry) Allen of Lloyd.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009, at the Load Christian Baptist Church in Load by the Rev. Mike Allen. Burial will be in LeMaster Cemetery in Load.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup and one hour before the service on Thursday at Load Christian Baptist Church.

John McKenzie - 1926-2009
John J. McKenzie, 83 of Ashland, died Monday, in King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
Mr. McKenzie was born June 25, 1926, in Johnson County.

The funeral will be at noon Friday at Park Circle Freewill Baptist Church in Kenova, W.Va. Burial will be in McKenzie Family Cemetery in Volga.
