Patricia Ann Humphrey - 1941-2009
Patricia Ann Humphrey, 68, of Catlettsburg died Wednesday at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, following a very brief battle with cancer. She was born Sept. 16, 1941, in Ashland, the daughter of Edna Cressel Sanderson of Ashland and the late Otto Sanderson. She was the wife of Curtis Humphrey, who survives. She was a homemaker and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
He also was preceded in death by one brother, Freddie Runyon; and four sisters, Irene Hunt, Callie Dickerson, Pauline Grubb and Lorena Bradshaw.
Survivors, in addition to her husband and mother, include two sons, Johnny Lynn Humphrey and wife, Juanita, and Gerald Keith Humphrey and wife, Tammy; one daughter, Kimberly Ann Lynch and husband, Mike; one brother, James Runyon; and seven grandchildren, Joni Nichols and husband Mike, Jennifer Humphrey, J.C. Humphrey, Zachary Humphrey, Taylor Humphrey and Eric Cole; and two great-grandchildren, Mikalyn Nichols and Austin Nichols.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel, with the Rev. Everett Stevens officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

John J. McKenzie - 1926-2009
John J. McKenzie, 83, of Ashland, passed away Monday Dec. 14, 2009, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
He was born June 25, 1926, in Johnson County, son of the late John H. and Vertresa Williams McKenzie. He worked for Cardinal Construction and was a teamster for 46 years retiring in 1988. He accepted Christ as his personal Savior and was baptized December 1973, and was a faithful member of Park Circle Freewill Baptist Church. John enjoyed farming, was a Kentucky Colonel, and attended Flat Gap schools.
Left behind is Blanche Stambaugh McKenzie, his loving wife of 65 years; daughters Wanda Lee Allen, her husband Reese of Ashland, Ky., and Donna Sue Davis, her husband Mack of Prichard, W.Va.; grandchildren, Roger Workman, Neal (Angie) Holmes, John (Carla) Holmes, David (Charity) Davis, Vickie Ross, Jason Stambaugh, Donnie Hammonds, Chuck Roach and Allen Roach; great-grandchildren, Brittany (Shawn) Schoolfield, Kelsey Holmes, Jacey Holmes, Dakota Ross, Justin Davis, Hannah Toler, Jasper Davis, Layla Davis and Elizabeth Davis, special nieces and nephews and many friends.
Also preceding in death is one daughter, Harlene Doris Scarberry, brothers James D. McKenzie, Roy McKenzie, Dow Reed and Donnie Reed, sisters Ruie McKenzie, Cynthia McKenzie, Ruie Reed and Edna Reed and a great-grandson Jordan Davis.
Funeral will be at noon Friday at Park Circle Freewill Baptist Church in Kenova, with words of comfort offered by Pastor Tommy Terry and Pastor Randy Jeffers. Following the ceremony he will be laid to rest at McKenzie Family Cemetery in Volga.
Visitation for friends and family will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Neal Funeral Home on Center Street in Catlettsburg and one hour prior to the service time at the church.

Donna Fay Jones - 1936-2009
Donna Fay Braden Grubb Jones, 73, of Knoxville, Tenn., went to be with the Lord after an extended illness on Monday, Dec. 14, 2009, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Knoxville. She was born Dec. 10, 1936, in Raceland, a daughter of the late Frank and Margie Evans Braden.
She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Debbie Grubb; one son, Herbie Grubb; and one sister, Inez Justice; and one brother, Richard “Block” Braden.
Survivors include her husband, John “Bud” Jones; two daughters, Colene (Randy) Dalton of Worthington and Kathy Grubb of Raceland; one sister, Ruth Specht of Virginia; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Evans Funeral Home in Raceland by Dr. Tom Melvin. Burial will be in the Caroline Cemetery in Raceland.

Dewitt Diamond - 1928-2009
Dewitt Talmadge Diamond, 81, of Louisa died Saturday at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, following an extended illness. He was born Aug. 22, 1928, in Green Valley, the son of the late Dewitt and Frances Marie Rice Diamond. He was the husband of Barbara Ann Riffe Diamond, who survives. He was a retired Ironworker with Local 769 and he was a Kentucky Colonel.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include four daughters, Bobbi McCoy and Diane Whitt, both of Louisa, Sharon Cunningham of Wheelersburg, Mary McCalev of Gallipolis, Ohio; seven sons, Michael D. Diamond of Point Pleasant, W.Va., Kenneth David Diamond of Pedro, Ohio, Danny Joe Diamond of Ashland, Terry Lee Diamond of Point Pleasant, Paul Franklin Diamond of Nicholasville, Samuel Lynn Diamond of Louisa and Shannon Ray Diamond of Louisa; one sister, Dorothy Jordan of Westwood; 30 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Diamond Cemetery on Big Catt Fork Road, with the Rev. Jim Osborne officiating.
There will be no visitation.

Minnie Pearl Conlin - 1919-2009
Minnie Pearl Conlin, 90, of Lebanon Junction died Wednesday at Green Meadows Nursing Facility in Mt. Washington. She was born April 21, 1919, in Lebanon Junction. She was the wife of the late John Thomas Conlin Sr. She was the former Minnie Pearl Hoagland. She was a native of Lebanon Junction where she was a housewife and homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Lebanon Junction.
Survivors include one son, John Conlin Jr. (Patty) of Ashland; three daughters, Barbara Sweat (Rudolph) of Lebanon Junction, Carolyn Taylor (Ronald) of Louisville and Crystal Conlin of North Carolina; one brother, William Lee “Billy” Hoagland (Barbara Sue) of Lebanon Junction; one sister, Mary Hochstetler of St. Joe, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Kappel Funeral Home in Lebanon Junction, with the Rev. Tom Wicker officiating. Burial will be in Lebanon Junction City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Charles G. Jones - 1935-2009
Charles G. Jones Sr. of Groveport, 74, of Groveport, Ohio. Beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, was born May 13, 1935, and went to rest with the Lord on Dec. 14, 2009. He retired from Techneglas after 50 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his son, Donald Jones.
Survived by his wife of 56 years, Martha Jones; daughters, Sandy Burton and Karma (Tom) Rogers; a son, Charles (Vicki) Jones; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Charles will be greatly missed. God bless him and may he find peace in Heaven with the rest of the angels.

Charles E. Baker - 1958-2009
Charles E. Baker (CB) age 50, of Ironton died Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell. He was born Dec. 29, 1958, the son of Peggy Baker Day and the late Lawrence F. Baker II. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Ironton and a graduate of St. Joseph High School with the class of 1977, and Ohio University. He was the past state master counselor of the Ohio Order of DeMolay and received the chevalier decree and he was a member of the Lawrence Lodge 198 F.&A.M.; He was employed as a sales broker for N-Stock Box Inc. in Middletown, Ohio.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include one brother and sister-in-law, John D. and Judy Baker; one sister and brother-in-law, Charla (Sissy) and Robert (Bob) Clyse; three nephews, Tyler Clyse, Crosby Clyse and John Baker II, three nieces Austin Clyse, Sunni Clyse and Sydnee Baker.
He also was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lawrence and Charla Baker; and Bruce and Dovie Davis; one uncle Bruce Davis; and one aunt, Jerry Bowman.
Funeral will be Saturday, Dec. 19, at 11 a.m. at O’Keefe-Baker Funeral Home in Ironton with the Rev. Wayne Young and David Hoffman officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery.

Jackson “Jack” M. Hill - 1941-2009
Jackson Hill 68, of Ashland, died Wednesday at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
He was born Aug. 12, 1941, in Ashland.
His wife, Lou Ann Barker Hill, survives.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Kilgore & Collier Funeral Home, Panola Street in Catlettsburg.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral Home.

Barbara Ann Elmore, 58, of Flatwoods died Wednesday at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell.
Her husband, James Elmore, survives.
