Cuza Chandler - 1929-2012

HUNTINGTON — Cuza Chandler, 83, of Huntington, passed away surrounded by her family in Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House to be with our Heavenly Father on Feb. 29, 2012.  

She was born Feb. 6, 1929, in Johnson County, Ky., the eldest daughter of the late Ron and Decie Phipps. Cuza is survived by her husband of 64 years, John W. Chandler, and three children, Linda Lockhart and husband William and their children, Chandler and Brandon; David Chandler and wife Cindy and their children, Whitney and Tyler, and his wife Melissa; and Karen Chandler. She is also survived by her brothers, Ronald Phipps, Richard Phipps and Paul Phipps.

Cuza Chandler dedicated her life to her husband, children and family. She worked tirelessly to provide the best home possible for her family. Cuza was an avid gardener and kept her lawn immaculate.

Cuza was a member of 39th Street Baptist Church of Jesus Christ in Ashland and Marcum Chapter Order of Eastern Star in Ceredo.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. The family would like to express its extreme gratitude to her caregivers and home health care staffs.  

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, March 2, 2012, at Reger Funeral Home in Huntington. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 3, 2012, at the funeral home by the Rev. C.J. Adkins. Burial will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland, Ky.
