FLATWOODS —
Gary L. Boyd, 71, of Flatwoods, passed away peacefully in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
He was born June 12, 1941, in Morgantown, W.Va., to the late Ray and Mildred ‘Nester’ Boyd.
Mr. Boyd worked as a salesman for many years for Bradshaw Hydraulics. He was very involved with church and sang in the church choir, he also enjoyed any kind of wood working and tinkering with crafts, traveling with his wife, singing in the choir and spending time with his family and friends.
Mr. Boyd was preceded in death by one daughter, Jinda Wilson of Morgantown; and one brother, Bill Boyd of Alabama.
He leaves behind a loving and devoted wife of 29 years, Audrey Boyd of Flatwoods; one son, Gary Boyd Jr. of Charleston, W.Va.; one daughter, Kim Sanders of Morgantown; one brother, Ronald Boyd of Simson, W.Va.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; and many friends and family, all whom will miss him dearly.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday, March 11, 2013, at the Advance Memorial United Methodist Church in Flatwoods, with words of comfort delivered by Pastor Mark Wilson and Pastor Don Young. Burial will follow in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods.
Friends may call two hours prior to services at the church.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the church in Gary Boyd’s honor.
