Lawrence Edward Miller, 81, of Raceland, went to heaven on Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012, at his residence.
Mr. Miller was born Jan. 11, 1931, in Lawrence County, a son of the late Raymond Sr. and Ina Hunley Miller. He was also preceded in death by a son, Lefty Carl “LC” Miller, and four brothers, Ron Miller, Roy Miller, Clyde Miller and Raymond Miller Jr.
He was a retired shipper for AK Steel with 40 years of service and was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Raceland.
Surviving are his loving wife, Clara Wilson Miller; four daughters, Pamela (Bill) Dean of Worthington and Connie (Jimmie) Caudill, Janet (Chuck) Collins and Trina Miller, all of Raceland; two sons, Danny (Teresa) Miller of Greenup and Glenn Miller of Flatwoods; a daughter-in-law, Patricia Miller of Flatwoods; two sisters, Betty (Dwayne) Welch of Athens, Ohio, and Barbara (Bill) Cullum of Marysville, Ohio; a brother, David (Winnie) Miller of Heath, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.
Family and friends may call after 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, with funeral services at 1 p.m. at First Assembly of God Church by the Rev. James E. Wells. Burial will be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods.
Evans Funeral Home in Raceland is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to First Assembly of God Church in Raceland.
