John Paul Pfost - 1946-2012

LOUISA — John Paul Pfost of Louisa went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012, at his residence following a short illness.

He was born July 22, 1946, in Louisa, a son of the late John E. and Louise Crank Pfost. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Warren Douglas Pfost.

John retired from AK Steel after 39 years of service and was retired from the military with 20 years of service. He was a Kentucky colonel and avid supporter and volunteer of the Boy Scouts of America.

He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Rose Chaffin Pfost; three sons, John Paul Pfost II (Amanda), Travis Bryan Pfost (Casey) and Joshua Wade Pfost, all of Georgetown; two grandsons, Paydon Bryce Pfost and Jonathan Zander Pfost; a granddaughter, Olivia Rose Pfost; a sister, Glenna Smith (Harry) of Louisa; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Young Funeral Home in Louisa by Brother Glen VanHoose and Brother Jerry Hughes. Burial will be in Derefield Cemetery in Louisa.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
