Irene Clotine Fraley Griffith, 92, of Grayson, passed away Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012.
Irene was born Sept. 30, 1919, in Elliott County, to the late Volna Owen and Effie Lee Fraley.
During WWII she worked in the Naval shipyard in Baltimore, Md., and later as a sales clerk for Steckler’s Dept Store.
In addition to her parents,she was preceded in death by a son, Gary Allen Griffith; four brothers, William “Bill” Fraley, Raymond Fraley, Harold Fraley and James Fraley; and four sisters, Sandra Fraley, Stella Cole, Catherine McDaniel and Ann Hartman.
Survivors include a son, Woodrow “Curt” (Nona Jane McPeek) Griffith of Grayson; a brother, Ozzie Fraley, of Middletown, Ohio; two sisters, Linda Fosson of Ashland and Donna Yoby of Cincinnati, Ohio; six grandchildren, Scott Hill, Aaron Kosh, Tracy Arthur, Nicole Griffith Green, Gary Griffith and Christy Garmani; and nine great-grandchildren, Cameron Arthur, Griffen Green, Hayden Green, Sawyer Hill, Colby Hill, Riley Hill, Pressley Hill, Charlai Kosh and Alex Kosh.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012, by Ray Dickerson, a family friend, at Caniff Funeral Home in Westwood. Burial will follow in Dixon Cemetery in Westwood.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
