LaVerne Perry Cripple - 1935-2010

IRONTON — LaVerne Perry Cripple, 75, of Ironton, Ohio, died July 28, 2010, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky.

She was born July 1, 1935, in Ashland, a daughter of the late Delmont and Josephine Rece Perry.

In addition, she was preceded in death by her son, Bill Leibee, and her husband, Bill Cripple.

She was retired from Kmart and a member of First Baptist Church of Sheridan, Ohio, where she was in the Ladies Missionary Group. She loved bowling, games, puzzle books, books and reading the Bible.

Surviving are daughters Denise Easterling and husband Rick of Ironton, Tammy Walker and husband Jerry of Coal Grove, Ohio, and Sarah Cripple and fiance Josh Gamble of South Point, Ohio; a brother, Rick Perry and wife Denise of Ringgold, Ga.; a sister, Jeanine Solomon of Deland, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Barbara Douglas of Ironton; grandchildren Rikki Easterling, Aaron Easterlng, Stacy Overby, Hollie Brose, Misty Blanton, B.J. Leibee and Amber Leibee; great-grandchildren Maddy, Taylor, Colt, Owen, Gretchen, Jayla, Layken, Jessica and Cody; and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 1, 2010, at Steen Funeral Home-13th Street Chapel in Ashland by Pastor Todd Warner. Burial will be in Zoar Cemetery in Coal Grove.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 31, 2010, at the funeral home.
