Betty May Salyers, 82, of Rush, Ky., passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2010, in King’s Daughters Medical Center.
She was born Jan. 13, 1928, in Rush, a daughter of the late Sion Vinson and Minnie Belle Kouns Hutchison.
She was retired from the Ashland Craft Sewing Factory and was of the Christian faith.
She is survived by her four children, Paul “Butch” and wife Mary Salyers Jr., Charles and wife Darlene Salyers, Vicky and husband Danny Rucker and Rita and Tex Kirk; her 10 grandchildren, Paul and wife Denise Salyers III, Michael and Tiny Salyers, Danny and wife Lana Rucker, Christy and husband Jeff Sparks, Thomas and wife Jamie Salyers, Eric and wife Missi Marshall, Adam Rucker, Joey and wife Diana Salyers, Freddy and wife Sarah McGuffin and Renea Kirk; her 18 great-grandchildren, Alysia Salyers, Ashley and husband Randall Gollihue, Crestin Salyers, Dakota Sparks, Jeffery Sparks, Larissa James, Tyler Meeks, Austin Rucker, William Sparks, Kiley Brown, Zachary McGuffin, Alex Marshall, Kirby Rucker, Layne Brown, Sarah McGuffin, Anna Salyers, Aden Rucker and Chase McGuffin; and her four sisters, Katie Lucas, Charlotte Morrison, Joyce Rucker and Shirley Bostick.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Edward “Pod” Salyers; her great-grandson, Brett Dillon Salyers; her great-granddaughter, Julia Faith Marshall; her four sisters, Lucille Dinkens, Lois Berry, Alene Hall and Wanda Davis; and her three brothers, Frank Hutchison, Smithfield Hutchison and Bob Hutchison.
Betty is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at noon Saturday at Malone Funeral Home in Grayson with Fred Wiles and Carson Bill Gullett, ministers.
Burial will be in Hutchison Family Cemetery.
