GREENUP —
Dawna Kay Allen, 65, of Greenup, went to be with the Lord Wednesday at her home.
Mrs. Allen was born Dec. 30, 1946, in Troy, Ohio, a daughter of the late Chester Andrew “Ted” and Juanita Whitten Abdon.
She was a member of Lloyd Nazarene Church and 5 Little Stitches quilting group in Greenup.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Teddy Shannon Abdon.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, William Paul Allen; three daughters, Melody Kay (Steve) Roessler of St. Louis, Mo., Melissa Fay (Ronnie) Smith of Mount Sterling and Paula Sue (Harry Craig) Hunt of Raceland; four grandchildren, Damon Cody Allen, Samuel Lewis Smith, Jenna Kay Roessler and Hayden Craig Hunt; and a nephew, TJ Abdon.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup by Pastor Kenneth Martin. Burial will be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today and an hour before the services Saturday at the funeral home.
