Joseph Edward “Joe” Cline 1930-2012

OLIVE HILL — Former Globe Funeral Chapel associate, Mr. Joseph Edward "Joe" Cline, age 82, of Virginia Avenue in Olive Hill, passed away Thursday afternoon, Aug. 16, 2012, in Carter Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Grayson.

He was born Jan. 25, 1930, in Carter County, a son of the late John Hansford and Sarah Elizabeth Conn Cline.

Joe was a member of the Henderson Branch Christian Holiness Church and served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was retired from General Refractories at Hitchins and a former employee of Carter County Emergency Services.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Walter Cline, Hansford Cline, Wilson Cline, George Harlan Cline, and John Marlin Cline; and six sisters, Ollie Barker, Jane Ross, Mae Bond, Alice Pelfrey, Ruth Ingold, and Hazel Lycan.

Joe is survived by his wife of 49 1/2 years, Gayle James Cline; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Gaylena Cline of Olive Hill and Joseph and Robyn Cline of Morehead; one daughter, Tiffany Kilgore of Olive Hill; six grandchildren, Zechariah "Zak" Cline, Mariah Cline, Jarad Cline, Austin Kilgore, Caleb Kilgore, and Brittany Hargett; one great-grandson, Nicholas Hargett; and numerous nieces and nephews. He also leaves many other church family, neighbors, and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19, 2012, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill with Brother Jonathon Lewis and Brother David Gee officiating. Burial will follow in Garvin Ridge Cemetery in Olive Hill with full military rites by  Olive Hill American Legion Post No. 138.

Friends may visit from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Aug. 18, 2012, and until the service Sunday at the funeral home, 17277 West U.S. Highway 60, Olive Hill, KY 41164.

Tony Russell, Andy Russell, Zechariah "Zak" Cline, Austin Kilgore, Caleb Kilgore, and Jarad Cline will serve as pallbearers.
