Georgia Shipley 1921-2012

IRONTON — Georgia Shipley, 91, of Ironton, passed away Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012, in Jo-Lin Health Care Center in Ironton.

She was born Jan. 22, 1921, in Ironton, to the late William and Nellie (Wade) Ratliff.

Georgia worked as a clerk for the Ironton Tribune and attended First Church of the Nazarene in Ironton.

She was also preceded in death by her first husband,  James Bernard Sesher, and her second husband, Robert Shipley; a son, Mike Sesher; five brothers; and three sisters.

She is survived by two sons, Ronald and Sandy Sesher of Port Clinton and David and Sandy Sesher of Ironton; a stepdaughter, Mitzi and Dan Hess of Bellefontaine; three granddaughters, Dana and Pete (Shipley) Carter, Krista and Kevin Bump of Greenfield, Ind., and Jennifer and Dan Meade of Ohio; four grandsons, Tony Sesher and Trevor Sesher of Columbus, Tyler Sesher of Dayton and Michael and Jackie Sesher of Pennsylvania; nine stepgrandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, at Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home in Ironton by Pastor Robert Hale. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24, 2012, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Ironton First Church of the Nazarene or St. Joe Catholic Church.
