ASHLAND —
Lola Lucille Jordan Imes, 89, of Ashland, passed away at her residence on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012.
She was born on May 29, 1923, to the late Delbert Scott and Lena Gertrude Keeney Jordan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilford Maxwell Imes; brothers, John Jordan and William D. Jordan; a sister, Emma Louise Griggs; and a Maltese granddog, Duke Beauregard Imes.
Lola was a member of the American Legion Post 76 Women’s Auxillary and served as Chaplain. She was also a member of the Salvation Army Women’s Circle. She and her husband performed Civil Service during WWII and were deployed to the Pearl Harbor post in Hawaii. She attended Grace Nazarene Church. She formerly was a cook for Paul G. Blazer High School.
She is survived by her son, Timothy Scott Imes and his wife, Susan Berry Imes, of Ashland; a sister, Dixie Lee Jordan Jackson and husband Jack of Ashland; a brother-in-law, William Griggs, also of Ashland; and her precious Maltese granddog, Pandora Hope Imes; she is also survived by her lifelong best friend, Kay Crowe.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel and will be officiated by Pastor Richard Suman. Burial will follow in Ashland Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 9:00 p.m. today at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, friends may make contributions to Community Hospice, 1480 Carter Avenue, Ashland, KY, 41101.
