Vaughn Delane Carroll - 1935-2013

MOREHEAD — Mr. Vaughn Delane Carroll, 77, of Morehead, formerly of Olive Hill, passed away Tuesday morning, Feb. 5, 2013, in the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.

He was born Sept. 25, 1935, at Grahn, a son of the late Hyldreth “Blackie” Carroll and the late Alma Wilburn Carroll Wilson.

Vaughn was a member of Limestone Apostolic Church and was a retired electrician. He enjoyed going to church and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of more than 55 years, Virginia “Jenny” Richards Carroll; two sons, Stephen Vaughn Carroll and John David Carroll; and a half brother, Rusten Carroll.

Vaughn is survived by two sons, Robert Wayne Carroll and wife Bonnie and Ricky Allen Carroll and wife Melissa, all of Olive Hill; three daughters, Pamela Ann Anderson and husband David of Webbville, Lisa Elaine Carroll and friend Michael Wood of Morehead and Rita Lynn Hughes and husband Tim of Seward, Neb.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Tim and Lori Wilson of Casa Grande, Ariz.; a sister and brother-in-law, Regina Culpepper and Jack Huff of Clarksville, Tenn.; and a half sister, Carol Ellyson of Meadow Bridge, W.Va. He also leaves many other family members, church family and friends who will sadly miss him.

A celebration of life service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at Limestone Apostolic Church in Olive Hill by Brother Jerry Mills, Brother Jason Weir, Brother Rick Crank and Brother Gary Sparks. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Olive Hill.

Friends may visit from 4:30 to 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill and after 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Kyle Wilson, Mark Bond, Edward Messer, John Hester, John Stamper, John Robert Stamper, Rodney Ingles and David Ingles will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Scott Maddix, O’Neal Nolen, Jim Short, Glen Bond, Bob Bailey, Jeff Brown, Jackie Lowe, Gary Smith, Granville Kilgore and Clint Davis.
