HUNTINGTON — Judith Carol Mossburg, 75, of Yadkinville, N.C., formerly of Huntington, passed away Feb. 7, 2012, at her home.

Ms. Mossburg was born in Cabell, W.Va., on Dec. 18, 1936, to the late James and Margie Herald Mossburg.

She was of the Baptist faith, a master gardener, loved to paint and received several awards for her oil and acrylic artwork. She was also a lover of all animals including her special pet, Chloe.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Shawn Robert Shoemaker.

Ms. Mossburg is survived by two daughters, Becky Barrett and Ken Bridges of Statesville, N.C., and Marjorie Burns of Elkin, N.C.; brothers James Mark Mossburg and wife Pat of Aiken, S.C., and Michael Lee Mossburg and wife Joann of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren Billy Ray Barrett, Joshua Heath Barrett and Johanna Roberts; great-grandchildren Orion Barrett, Benjamin Barrett and Jonas Barrett; special dog Chloe; several loving nieces and nephews; special caregivers Hazel Harris and Elaine Wagoner; and Mountain Valley Hospice staff members Cindy Bullins and Peggy Shore.

Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. today, Feb. 9, 2012, at Johnson Funeral Home Chapel in Pilot Mountain, N.C., by the Rev. Kenneth Jordan. Burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Park in Huntington, W.Va.
