ASHLAND —
Robert Glenn Mowery, 81, of Ashland, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
He was born May 25, 1931, in Gilbert, W.Va., a son of the late James and Lillian Cupp Mowery. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Stuart J. Mowery and a sister, Gloria Wellinghurst.
Robert attended Unity Baptist Church and retired after 40 years of service from GTE.
Survivors include his loving wife, Doris Willis Mowery of Ashland; sons, Robert Mowery, Jr. of Chino Hills, Calif., and Mike Mowery and his wife, Brenda, of Westerville, Ohio.; daughter, Jonna Cook and her husband, Roger, of Ashland; grandchildren, Jeff and his wife Renae, Jim, Tallon and Tyler; two great-grandchildren, Dallas and Shiann and a cousin, Ginger Stefanavage of Florida.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at the Steen Funeral Home Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland with Dr. Floyd Paris officiating. Burial will follow in Ashland Cemetery.
Friends may call from Noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
