CATLETTSBURG —
Willena Workman Taylor, 89, of Catlettsburg, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 6, 2013, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
Mrs. Taylor was born May 25, 1923, in Catlettsburg, daughter of the late W.E. and Catherine Robinson Workman.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, John E. Taylor; a grandson, Stephen Remmele; a brother, Kenneth “Bud” Workman; and a nephew, Philip Minns.
Willena graduated from Thomas R. Brown High School and worked for the Boyd County Clerk’s Office. She was a member of the Catlettsburg Homemakers and a 59-year member of Oakland Avenue Baptist Church.
Willena is survived by her daughters, Linda Remmele and husband Robert and Debbie Barker and husband Larry, both of Catlettsburg; grandchildren Mark Remmele (Audrae), Matthew Remmele, Leslie Harris (Scott) and Jonathan Barker; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Jack Workman of Nicholasville and Frank Workman (Mary Ann) of Madison, Miss.; a sister, Patty Minns (Edward) of Ashland; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013, at Kilgore & Collier Funeral Home in Catlettsburg by Pastor Mike Blankenship. Final rest will be in Catlettsburg Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be after noon Saturday at the funeral home.
Casket bearers will be Mark Remmele, Matthew Remmele, Larry Barker, Jonathan Barker, Scott Harris and Mason Harris.
