Vermont group wants people to give up bottled

BURLINGTON, Vt. — A community group in the Burlington area is urging people to forego bottled water in favor of something they say is more environmentally sound, tap water.

The Kick the Bottle campaign is on a mission to get people to give up bottled water.

The Burlington Free Press says the group feels bottled water is a waste issue that touches on areas of public health, economics, global warming and the world water crisis.

Campaign coordinator Leah Wittenberg says the group hopes to produce a map that will show where people can refill their containers from the tap in the Burlington area and they'd like to get the city to stop buying bottled water.
