Ky. gets first foam recycling point

HORSE CAVE, Ky. — Kentucky has it's first drop off point for recycling foam.

Dart Container Corp.'s facility in Horse Cave is accepting foam products and shipping them off for reuse.

Mammoth Cave spokeswoman Vickie Carson told The Bowling Green Daily News that workers at the park have been collecting foam items and dropping them off at the new bin.

Dart's corporate director of recycling programs Michael Westerfield says recycled foam takes less energy to manufacture than new foam.

Horse Cave Mayor Odell Martin says he hopes the new drop-off will save landfill space as fewer people trash their foam products.
