Beshear appoints prosecutor, 2 magistrates

FRANKFORT, — Gov. Steve Beshear has appointed a commonwealth's attorney for the Cynthiana area and two magistrates in Bracken and Robertson counties.

Edward Douglas Miller was named as the commonwealth's attorney serving Pendleton, Harrison, Robertson and Nicholas counties. He replaces Doug Wright, who was killed last month in a car crash.

Beshear announced the appointment on Thursday. It will last until voters choose a replacement in next year's general election.

Beshear also appointed John H. Corlis as magistrate in Bracken County and Sue Conley as magistrate in Robertson County. Those appointments also are in effect until next year's general election.
