LEXINGTON — The former director of Lexington's Blue Grass Airport and three of his managers have pleaded not guilty to felony theft charges.
An attorney for former executive director Michael A. Gobb entered a not guilty plea on his behalf Friday during his arraignment in Fayette Circuit Court on nine theft charges. Also pleading not guilty were three of Gobb's former colleagues, finance director John Rhodes, operations director John Coon and planning and development chief John P. Slone.
Gobb and his attorney declined to comment afterward.
A grand jury indicted the four men this month after the Lexington Herald-Leader exposed alleged lavish spending in a series of articles. In two years, the top five managers spent more than $530,000 on travel, meals, entertainment and other, the paper reported.
