Damron-Smith


Carol Damron and Richard Smith of Flatwoods were married on June 4, 2009, at The Wedding Chapel in Catlettsburg. The double-ring ceremony was officiated by Martin Gute.

Parents of the couple are Eleanor Damron of Grayson and the late Wayne Damron, and the late Harold Smith and the late Bonnie Duncan Smith.

The bride was given in marriage by Frank Smith, brother of the groom.

Matron of honor was Jonell Ryan Keen and the best man was Kenneth Tully of Ashland and groomsmen were James Swinford of Catlettsburg and Roger Ward of Huntington.

She is a 1986 graduate of East Carter High School and graduated as valedictorian from Ashland State Vocational-Technical School in 1991. She received her bachelor of university studies from Morehead State University in 1992. She also attended Regents College of the State University of New York, Albany (now Excelsior College) in 1998, and attended Eastern Kentucky University. She is employed at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital as a registered nurse.

He is a 1986 graduate of Wayne County Vo-Tech School and attended Ceredo-Kenova High School. He achieved the rank of OSSN, E3 in the U.S. Navy, serving aboard the U.S.S. Peterson stationed in Norfolk, Va., and is employed at Smithfield Foods in Grayson.

The reception was at Golden Corral in Russell.

The couple reside in Flatwoods.
