Short-Carper


Whitney Ann Short of Ashland and Christopher Neil Carper of Ashland were married on March 1, 2008, at 6:30 p.m. at Unity Baptist Church in Ashland by Minister Ernie Duty Jr.

Parents of the couple are Gary and Edna Short Jr. of Ashland and Steve and Diane Carper of Catlettsburg.

The bride was given in marriage by her father.

Maid of honor was Crystal Adams, older sister of the bride.

Bridesmaids were Brandi Mays, April Harmon and Anna Harmon, cousins of the bride and all of Coal Grove; Kristin Boggs, Kaylee Crump and Jessie Griffith, all of Ashland.

Flower girls were Sarah and Carleen Kibbey, twin cousins of the groom of Greenup.

Best man was Steve Carper, father of the groom.

Groomsmen were Wes Messer and Dusty Hughes, both of Ashland, and Michael Walters of Ironton.

Ushers were Justin Mays of Coal Grove, cousin of the bride, and Rachel Amburgey of Ashland.

Ring bearer was Jeremy Short, brother of the bride, of Ashland.

Michelle Johnson of Michigan was guest book attendant.

Amber Carper of Grayson, cousin of the groom, was program attendant.

The bride is a 2007 graduate of Paul G. Blazer High School in Ashland. She received a pharmacy tech certification and is working at King’s Daughters Medical Center as a certified pharmacy tech.

The groom is a 1998 graduate of Boyd County High School and attended Ashland Community College and graduated in 2003 from Morehead State University with a degree in financing. He is employed at King’s Daughters Medical Center as a pharmacy tech.

Following a wedding trip to Orlando, Fla., the couple are living in Ashland.
