Bocook-Pennington

ASHLAND — Easter Lurenda Bocook and John Tyler Pennington were united in marriage on July 10, 2010, at 2:30 p.m. at First Christian Church in Lexington.

Jeremy Buchanan of Lexington officiated the double-ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Michael and Nada Bocook of Flatwoods. Maternal grandparents are Margaret Harrington and the late Charles Harrington. Paternal grandparents are the late Jack and Madeline Bocook.

The groom is the son of Pamela Clark of Ashland and Monty and Jewdy Pennington of Berea. Maternal grandparents are Donald Clark and the late Betty Jo Fields Clark. Paternal grandparents are Lena Pennington and the late Rufus R. Pennington.  A special guest was Mary Lou Mackebee.

The bride was given in marriage by her father.

Megan Fairchild of Ashland was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Danielle Roark of Flatwoods and Emily Morrison and Erica Morrison, both of West Chester, Ohio.

Daniel Brown of Wilmore was best man. Groomsmen were Matthew Flamm of Columbus and Stephen Lewis of Georgetown. Ushers were Gabriel Bocook, brother of the bride, of Ashland, Adam Tomberlin of Alpharetta, Ga., and Reid Wahlbrink of Fort Thomas.

Kimberly Marsh of Cynthiana was the soloist.

The flower girl was Anna Ruth Bocook, niece of the bride, from Ashland.

A reception followed at the Limestone Club in Lexington.

Mrs. Pennington, a 2005 graduate of Russell High School, graduated in 2009 from the University of Kentucky with a bachelor’s degree in biology.  She is pursuing a doctoratal degree from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine.

Mr. Pennington, a 2005 graduate of Paul G. Blazer High School, received a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of Kentucky in 2009. He is employed as an intern architect with G. Scott & Associates Architects in Frankfort.

Following a honeymoon to Charlotte, N.C., the couple reside in Lexington.
