RUSH —
In a three-day celebration of love and music dubbed Tuzalapalooza, William Pierzala married his longtime love, Amanda Tuzik, in a ceremony on the upper meadow of the family farm in Rush.
Matthew Pierzala, D.O., served his brother as best man. Also in attendance was Eric Napora, who built their wedding arbor.
The bride was given in marriage by her father, Neil Tuzik. Her mother, Karen Rigby Tuzik, gave a special reading. Amanda’s matron of honor was her sister, Stacia Halko. The groom’s nieces and nephews, Sophie and Silas Pierzala of Ashland and Ella and Hank Stringer of Ashland, Ore., served as flower girls and ring bearers.
Guests enjoyed a day of games and music culminating in a performance in the barn by The Black Lillies. The couple honeymooned by canoe in North Carolina and Virginia.
The bride and groom are graduates of Warren Wilson College in Swannanoa, N.C. He received a masters of science in nursing from the University of Virginia. Shea is achieving her RN through Charlottesville Community College. Both are employed at the University of Virginia Hospital, the groom in the PICU and the bride in the MICU. They reside in Charlottesville.
