Sparks-Gallaher


Lisa Ann Sparks and Damian Gallaher were united in marriage on Oct. 10, 2009, at San Guiseppe Church in Favaro, Italy. Don Paolo Boffa officated the ceremony.

A civil ceremony was in Biella, Italy, prior to the church ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Deborah Sparks Lucas and the late Samuel Joel Sparks.

The groom is the son of John and Stephanie Gallaher and is the grandson of Lawrence and Phyllis Miller and the late James and Della Lemon Gallaher. He is the great-grandson of the late James and Maria Lemon who were married in San Giuseppe in 1904.

The bride was given in marriage by her brother, Craig Sparks of St. Petersburg, Fla.

The groom was given in marriage by his parents.

Ashley Gallaher Quinn, sister of the groom, served as matron of honor. Cara Newsom, cousin of the groom, served as bridesmaid.

Best man was Grayson Gallaher, brother of the groom, of Raleigh, N.C. Groomsman was Tom Hannah of Cincinnati.

Dena Newsom, cousin of the groom, served as lector and Barbara Pauletti of Biella, translated.

A reception for family and townspeople was in the church courtyard following the ceremony. A wedding dinner was at the Sanctuary d Oropa for family and friends.

Following the ceremony, the couple honeymooned in Venice and Positano, Italy.

The bride is a graduate of Russell High School and Marshall University and is employed with the Gallaher Group in Ashland.

The groom is a graduate of Russell High School and UK College of Law and is employed with McBrayer, McGinnis, Leslie and Kirkland in Greenup.

They reside in Ashland.
