Deborah DeBard Platt and Christopher Edward Estep were married at 7:30 p.m. July 18, 2009, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Ashland. Father David Huffman of Ironton officiated the double-ring ceremony.
Parents of the couple are Brenda Nickell Platt of Ashland and Bruce Platt Jr. of New Port Richey, Fla., and Ray and Jo Ann Estep of Rainelle, W.Va.
The bride was given in marriage by her father.
Maid of honor was Abigail Billings of Lexington. Bridesmaids were Marie Troxler of Ashland, daughter of the bride, Laura Bradley of Ashland, Kari Purvis of Laurel, Md., and Lisa Bradley of Ashland.
Best man was Jon Hoover of Barboursville, W.Va. Groomsmen were Jeff Estep of Grassy Meadows, W.Va., brother of the groom; L.R. Sammons III of Charleston, W.Va.; Robert Akers of Charleston, W.Va.; and Jason Woollard of Culloden, W.Va.
Flower girls were Morgan Bradley of Ashland and Taylor McManus of Laurel, Md.
Ring bearer was Connor McManus of Laurel. Ushers were David Hicks of Lexington, cousin of the bride; Megan Estep of Grassy Meadows, niece of the groom; and Justin Estep of Rainelle, nephew of the groom.
The bride is a 1993 graduate of Paul G. Blazer High School, a 1998 graduate of Eastern Kentucky University; she obtained her paralegal certification in September 2008 from the National Association of Legal Assistants. She is employed with the Social Security Administration Hearing Office in Huntington as a senior case technician.
The groom is a 1989 graduate of Greenbrier West High School and a 1993 graduate of Concord University. He is employed with Coca-Cola Bottling Company Consolidated as a cold drink account manager.
A reception followed at the Ashland Plaza Hotel.
Following a wedding trip to Turtle Bay Resort in Kahuku, Hawaii, the couple reside in Scott Depot, W.Va.
