ASHLAND —
Melanie Dawn Elkins and Michael Keith Asbury were married on May 26, 2012, at First United Methodist Church in Ironton. The Rev. Wayne Young performed the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Jeff and Nancy Elkins of Ironton; the granddaughter of Helen Schafer Bruce and the late Charles Bruce of Ironton, and the late John and Cathryn Long Elkins of Ashland. She is a graduate of Ironton High School and she will graduate Marshall University in 2013 with a bachelor of science in biology.
The groom is the grandson of Tom and Mabel Hawkins of Hilliard, Ohio, and the great-grandson of Dorothy Gilkerson of Huntington, W.Va. He is a graduate of Ohio State University and is employed at Marathon Petroleum.
Presented by her father, the bride was attended by her sister, Heather Elkins Mains, as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Amanda Brown and Rachel Walker.
Chadd Bartholomew served as best man. Groomsmen were Curtis Bartholomew, Alex Kaliski and Alva Wieteki.
The reception was at the Crump & Field Ballroom in Ashland. The couple honeymooned on the Caribbean Island of Jamaica and reside in Ashland.
