Gilmore to be honored Saturday

ASHLAND — Steve Gilmore will be honored Saturday night with a banquet on the 38th annual Elks Sports Day at the Elks Lodge in downtown Ashland.

Gilmore, the superintendent of Ashland schools, is a former Ashland Tomcat baseball and basketball coach, a former city commissioner and mayor and also was a star basketball player for Holy Family and Rio Grande College.

Tickets remain for the Sports Day banquet that starts at 7 p.m.
