2 charges in Carter meth bust

Lab found on Blueberry Ridge

OLIVE HILL — Kentucky State Police at Ashland on Monday arrested two after raiding a suspected methamphetamine lab in the Olive Hill area.

Phillip Z. Zornes, 22, and Athena B. Owens, 25, both of Olive Hill, were both charged with manufacturing meth and first-degree drug possession, the KSP said.

According to the the KSP , troopers received a tip of a suspected meth lab in a residence on Blueberry Ridge. 

Troopers located a working meth lab in the home, along with several precursors used to manufacture the drug and a small amount of finished product.

 

The KSP Drug Enforcement Special Investigation Unit and Olive Hill Police Department also responded and assisted.

 

The investigation is ongoing by Trooper David Hobbs
