Jolly Pirate robbed at gunpoint

ASHLAND — An Ashland doughnut shop was robbed at gunpoint early Monday.

According to the Ashland Police Department, a man entered Jolly Pirate Doughnuts, 2100 Winchester Ave., about 1:45 a.m., brandished a fireearm and demanded money. The robber then fled in a brown Nissan passenger car.

The robber was described as an African-American wearing jeans and a black hoodie.
