Flash flooding hits Olive Hill

OLIVE HILL — Heavy rains produced a flash flood that washed away one mobile home and damaged more than 10 to 15 others early Friday morning in the Olive Hill area, according to Carter County dispatchers.

Rescue crews were sent to the area along Ky. 1025 about 3 a.m. Friday because of the flooding.

Donna Justice and her daughter, Kristen Justice, were rescued from the rising water after having their mobile home washed off its foundation. The mobile home was swept between 200 and 500 feet down stream by rushing flood water.

Desite flood damage to 10 to 15 homes, there are no reported injuries.
